How I accidentally manifested my dream CTC in 2021!
Miracles are happening every day. Sometimes we don't have the eyes to see them.
Hello, dear readers!
Today I am going to share one of my manifestation stories. It was fun, it was unexpected, it was shocking at first, but then, when I look back, it was all aligned.
It all started in 2021. While in 2020 I had thought of leaving Bangalore several times in order to shift to some other city or Guwahati, where my parental home is; by around March 2021, I did realize there was a certain peace I felt in Bangalore that I don’t expect to find in other cities.
I may speak like a typical Bangalorean here but I did discuss multiple types with people and I neither wanted the rains of Mumbai nor the smogs of Delhi. I got accustomed to the weather and lifestyle in Bangalore. And I decided if I have to switch my job to the common posting locations for FMCG Corporates like Mumbai or Delhi, they better give me a good hike for it.
I was working in one of the FMCG majors at that time at the HQ with about 4 years of work experience. I remembered one of my seniors had told me, when I was just starting out, that once someone has 4 years of work experience in FMCG, they start selling like hot cakes and recruiters keep calling them. You’re considered an asset if you have worked for more than 4 years in a company in the era where people switch companies and industries within a year.
And that was happening!
I was getting calls from various recruiting consultants. I gave one interview for practice, like people advised me to, but since the offer did not truly excite my spirit, I didn’t feel like preparing much. I kept getting calls, and sometimes it was the industry or the location or the hiring company that would put me off.
I realized it was difficult for me to give interviews just for practicing, only because every time I only give my best shot when my whole heart was into it. When I say yes to something, it means my energy, enthusiasm and excitement get into it. I can’t half-ass anything. So, I couldn’t give my best to anything I would categorize as “just for practice”. Many times in life, I am an all-or-nothing person.
